New Orleans Saints: Does LB Harry Coleman’s Arrest Hurt His Chance To Make The Final Roster?

AUTHOR: | IN: Editorial, Saints, training camp | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Free agent linebacker Harry Coleman was arrested on simple battery charges last week by Chitimacha Tribe Police for yet unknown reasons. Coleman, a former standout at SS/OLB for LSU, was signed as an undrafted free agent promptly after the draft on April 27th by the Saints to compete for a roster spot at linebacker and or special teams. In 2009 he made the move from strong safety to outside linebacker his senior year and responded by becoming the Tigers most valuable player posting 82 tackles, four sacks, three fumble recoveries and nine tackles for loss. AUTHOR: | IN: Editorial, Link Dump, Saints | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Saints finally got to work at defending their Super Bowl championship this week hitting the field for their first series of OTA’s. Most players were in attendance even with OTA’s not being mandatory with exception to left tackle Jammal Brown and running back Pierre Thomas who are both holding out for new deals. Brown’s future is clouded after multiple trade rumors surfaced during the draft and then the team selected USC LT Charles Brown in the second round, an ominous sign. Jammal is certainly seeking a blockbuster deal to become the highest paid tackle in the NFL after developing into arguably the best [...]

Pierre Thomas Looking For A Deal Similar To Steven Jackson’s 2007 49.3M Contract

AUTHOR: | IN: News, Saints, Team Signings, Uncategorized | COMMENTS: None Yet

Pierre Thomas, the Saints primary rushing threat the last two seasons, is currently not attending any team activities in hopes of sparking contract talks for a new and lucrative multi-year extension. It’s being reported that the deal Thomas is seeking from the Saints is equivalent to the extension the Rams gave Steven Jackson in 2007, a six year deal worth at maximum 49.3M with 21M in guaranteed money. Thomas’ request has successfully grinded contract talks to a halt as that price may be difficult to reach with players like Drew Brees, Jammal Brown and Roman Harper all looking for new [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency, NFL, Saints, Team Signings | COMMENTS: None Yet

Former Jacksonville Jaguar linebacker Clint Ingram agreed to a one year contract with the defending Super Bowl champion Saints.   Ingram, 6-2 240 pounds, was a third round draft choice of the Jaguars in 2006 playing in 56 games with 46 starts posting 194 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 3 pass deflections and one interception.
