Does Bryan Edwards get a second chance with Derek Carr?

The career of Bryan Edwards is a somewhat sad one, but one with plenty of time to take off, still. As a former third-round pick out of South Carolina, Edwards was viewed as a possible steal back in that 2020 NFL Draft. He possessed a lot of what you want to see in an outside receiver, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing a solid 212 pounds.

But, as a rookie, Edwards missed a few games due to injury and only finished with 11 receptions for 193 yards and a score. In his second season, though, it looked like a breakout was happening. Edwards finished Year 2 with the Raiders having caught 34 passes for 571 yards and three touchdowns.

But then, the Raiders made the decision to trade him to the Atlanta Falcons, where he went on to catch just three passes for 15 yards last year.

Now in his second stint with Derek Carr, and having some chemistry there, will Edwards take advantage and make something of his career? The guy is still only 24 years old and has the raw tools. It's been mostly mental errors that have plagued him to this point. Beyond Michael Thomas and Chris Olave, it will be an intriguing battle for the remaining spots. Hopefully for his sake, Edwards takes control of his second chance with Carr.
