Many eyes are directed at Alontae Taylor as a potential stud for the New Orleans Saints, and it isn't only coming from Saints fans. It's become national.

The strength of the New Orleans Saints should continue to be their defense. If they can keep up their solid play, then it takes pressure off of Derek Carr (and Dennis Allen) along with the rest of the offense to get the Saints where they want to go. There is one defender in particular though who is getting a lot of attention before the season kicks off though.

Alontae Taylor is currently in something of a position battle with Paulson Adebo for the starting outside cornerback spot opposite Marshon Lattimore. Worst comes to worst, Taylor will play primarily in the slot, as he has the versatility to do so. The point is, we should get used to seeing Taylor on the field, and the Saints, and their fans, think he is capable of taking a leap in 2023.

However, this faith in Taylor isn't just local with the Saints, it's become national.

We had previously talked about how Sports Illustrated named Taylor as the team's most underrated player. Now, Adam Rank of NFL.com is getting in on the action of Taylor.

During his "State of the Saints" piece, Taylor was listed as the official prediction to be the breakout star for the Saints in 2023. Rank points to how Taylor stepped in for an injured Lattimore with great aplomb last year, and the fact that the Saints are expected to be lining Taylor up in the slot more this season should be a testament to their faith in him, and we agree.

While this could be nothing, it could also be something. The New Orleans Saints have a potential diamond in the rough on their hands, so to speak, in Alontae Taylor, and we can't wait to see how all of this growing faith is rewarded.
