Saints’ advantage No. 2: Run game

We’ll take Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram over Leonard Fournette any day.

The Bucs have middling depth in their running back room with Rachaad White and Ke’Shawn Vaughn, so if Fournette goes down, the Saints will have an even bigger advantage in 2022.

There is still the looming suspension of Alvin Kamara that could see him miss a significant stretch of the season, but the Saints have a solid backup in Mark Ingram and should easily beat the Bucs with a more potent rushing attack.

The Saints produced more rushing yards in their first meeting against the Bucs in 2021, but the second time around, Tampa’s trio of Ronald Jones, Fournette, and Vaughn outran New Orleans’ Kamara, Ingram, and Taysom Hill mostly due to the Saints’ offensive line struggles.

With more stability in the O-line, the Saints should see drastic improvements in their run game this season. And if Kamara is available and healthy, the team definitely has the best chance of beating the Bucs on the ground.
