Starting TE: Adam Trautman

This might be it for Adam Trautman as far as trying to prove he can be a reliable tight end goes. He was a third-round pick in 2020 and has yet to step up and show that he can be the starting tight end the Saints so desperately need.

Taysom Hill has a chance to pass Trautman on the depth chart due to him officially switching to the tight end spot full-time but it’s Trautman’s job to lose. If he doesn’t show what made him a third-round pick two years ago, it’s doubtful New Orleans gives him another chance next year.

Tight end is a weakness on the roster but Trautman has a chance to turn it into a strength. He did start to show some potential near the end of last year so maybe he can pick up where he left off.

Behind Trautman and Hill are Nick Vannett, Juwan Johnson, Brandon Dillon, J.P. Holtz, and UDFA Lucas Krull. Vannett has the best chance to grab the third and final tight end position but Krull has been a popular name this offseason so maybe he impresses enough to get into that spot.
