3. Tony Jones Jr.
This time last year, Saints fans were infatuated with Tony Jones Jr. and what he could bring to the Saints offense. Well, fast forward to present day and we sort of have an answer to that and it’s… Not much.
Jones shined bright in the preseason and was rewarded with a spot on the 53-man roster. Unfortunately, when the time came for him to show that preseason pop in the regular season, Jones fell flat. He finished last season with 142 rushing yards and averaged 2.6 yards per carry.
Jones ended up getting hurt and his opportunity to prove himself was cut short. A lot has changed since last summer and Jones has stealthy competition on the roster. He’ll have to replicate what he did last summer in order to make the team again.
It’s doable but the pressure is on for Jones if he wants that RB3 job back.
