3. Baker Mayfield

The newest addition to the NFC South is former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, who spent the past four years with the Browns. It felt like Cleveland finally might have found their franchise quarterback after decades of searching but this past year didn’t go well for Mayfield or the Browns.

In Mayfield’s defense, he was banged up with various injuries and kept going out there and doing what he could. The Browns gave up on him this offseason with their pursuance of Deshaun Watson and now that might end up blowing up in their faces entirely.

Mayfield is getting the same second chance that Darnold had and, oddly enough, he’s getting that second chance with the same team that gave Darnold one. If he can’t show what once previously made him a No. 1 overall pick with the Panthers, he might be relegated to backup duties for the rest of his career.
