The UDFA with the best chance to make it onto the Saints’ 53-man roster is Abram Smith. The team signed him in undrafted free agency and fans who did quick research on him were able to see what a weapon he could be.

Smith had 1,601 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns during his final year at Baylor. He showed that he could be a force to be reckoned with in the right offense. The Saints can absolutely be the right offense for the Baylor product.

With Alvin Kamara likely out for the first six games of the season, NOLA needs someone to step up and help out in the running game. Smith can hopefully be just that. He’ll have to compete with Tony Jones Jr. for a roster spot but Jones’ underwhelming performance last regular season paired with all of the hype surrounding Smith should help get him onto the 53-man roster.

Smith isn’t a well-known name but he can be a major weapon in this offense.
