3 best-kept secrets on New Orleans Saints roster in 2022

The New Orleans Saints have an interesting team in 2022. These three players are ones that don’t get talked about enough.
There are plenty of names in the Big Easy that New Orleans Saints fans know all about. These are guys like Cam Jordan, Demario Davis, Marshon Lattimore, Ryan Ramczyk, Jameis Winston, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, etc.
But what about the players who are more under-the-radar? That’s what we’ll be talking about in this post. Let’s check out the three best-kept secrets on the Saints’ roster.

3. Pete Werner
The Saints attempted to re-do their selection of Zack Baun the previous year by drafting Pete Werner out of Ohio State in the second round of last year’s draft. Werner appeared in all but two games as a rookie and put together quite the campaign for a first-year professional player.

1⃣ Marcus Davenport (EDGE)- 84.6
2⃣ Demario Davis (LB)- 83.3
3⃣ Tanoh Kpassagnon (EDGE)- 73.8
4⃣ Ryan Ramczyk (OT)- 73.9
5⃣ Pete Werner (LB)- 73.3 pic.twitter.com/QvnM45zlTk
Werner finished his rookie season with 62 tackles, four tackles for lost yardage, and one QB hit. PFF graded him at 79.9 and as you can see from the tweet above, Werner stood out in games. He was the exact kind of linebacker New Orleans was searching for to pair with Demario Davis and Werner appears to be that guy.
Linebacker might not be the sexiest position and perhaps that’s why Werner has flown under the radar in the league. Year two should put him on more people’s radars moving forward.
