The New Orleans Saints have an improved roster and these five players could be on their way to superstardom in 2022 if all goes well.

The 2021 season wasn’t kind to the New Orleans Saints yet they managed to win nine games and narrowly miss out on the playoffs. They did that without much star power, at least not on the offensive side of the ball, but that won’t be the case this year.

On defense, the team had a lot of talent but there is someone this year who is worth keeping an eye on despite going undrafted.

Let’s start with that player on our list of five Saints who could become stars in 2022.

5. Smoke Monday

There are a few undrafted free agents who will make an appearance on this list but first up is Smoke Monday. Fans were elated when the team managed to snag Monday as a UDFA following this year’s draft and he immediately showed them why when he trashed the Falcons and later was seen donning a Drew Brees jersey. Both of those are the way to Saints fans’ hearts.

Monday going undrafted was surprising and he’ll be someone who can slide into the Saints’ secondary from Day 1. He has to make the roster first, of course, but no one will be surprised if he does indeed make the final 53-man roster.

Monday had 63 tackles, five defended passes, two sacks, and one interception through 13 games last year, proving that he can be a difference-maker. He might not be in the starting lineup but Monday is entering the perfect situation and he has superstar potential with the Saints.
