While I’d love to list C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young in this post, the Saints traded away their first-round pick for next year’s draft in order to add a second first-round pick in this year’s draft. That means they won’t have a shot at either of those guys unless they’re willing to give up far more and that’s unlikely to be the case.

Tanner McKee of Stanford, however, is a more realistic option for New Orleans when they’re first on the clock next year in the second round. McKee threw for 2,327 yards, 15 touchdowns, and seven picks this past year in 10 games.

At 6’6″ and 230 pounds, McKee has the perfect stature to be a starting quarterback in the NFL and his arm strength is another reason he’ll likely be, at the very least, a Day 2 pick in next year’s draft.

If he doesn’t surge up the draft boards between now and next year, McKee should be on NOLA’s radar.
