Carolina Panthers: Robby Anderson
A year ago, putting Robby Anderson as the Panthers’ most overrated player would have been met with a side-eye. He was coming off a season in which he totaled 1,096 yards through all 16 regular-season starts and was one of Carolina’s best receivers.
That prolific season led to Anderson getting a two-year extension and he did not live up to the hype in 2021. Anderson finished the 2021 season with just 519 yards. Injuries weren’t to blame for Anderson’s lack of production, as he appeared in every game last year. He averaged just 9.8 yards per catch and was not the same guy he was the year before.
While Anderson still had over 500 yards receiving and found the end zone five times last year, he’s the third-most-expensive player on the Panthers’ roster and is a $10 million cap hit. Had he played to the level that he did in 2020, that would be respectable but he was a huge step down from that.
That makes Robby Anderson the most overrated player on Carolina’s roster.
