The New Orleans Saints’ divisional foes have their fair share of good players but they all have someone who is wildly overrated. Let’s check out each NFC South foe’s most overrated player entering 2022.
When it comes to the NFC South, the Buccaneers rule the roost. This is pretty annoying considering the New Orleans Saints won the division in 2020 and have yet to lose to the Tom Brady-led Bucs in the regular season. The other two teams in the division probably won’t be all that competitive this year.
With all of that in mind, let’s go through and check out every NFC South foe’s most overrated player. It’s worth noting that overrated simply means the player is overvalued by the team and the fan base. Perhaps they’re decent but overpaid. Perhaps they’ve dropped off in the past few years.
Whatever the reason may be, these are the most overrated players on every NFC South squad.

Atlanta Falcons: Deion Jones
In the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Falcons selected Deion Jones out of LSU. It was a tough pill to swallow seeing the hometown Jones land with the hated Falcons and seeing him ball out with the team’s biggest opponent.
Jones was rewarded for his stellar play with a four-year contract extension worth $57 million and, well… He hasn’t been great. This past year was particularly brutal for Jones, who despite posting over 130 tackles, finished the year with a 34.6 PFF grade. Yikes.
To make matters worse for the Falcons, Jones is a $20 million cap hit in 2022 and they’d have $24 million in dead money if they tried to part ways with him. He’s been a decent player throughout his career, but his poor 2021 campaign and how expensive he is makes him the easy pick for the Falcons’ most overrated player.
