Starting LG: Andrus Peat

Backups: Forrest Lamp, Josh Andrews

No one is excited to see another season of Andrus Peat at left guard but the Saints put themselves in this situation with the awful contract they gave him. They can’t cut him and it’s highly unlikely that anyone would trade for him.

Not only is Peat inconsistent but he’s injury-prone. He missed 11 games last year and that led to a lot of different variations on the o-line trying to find a left guard that could perform decently.

Behind Peat is Forrest Lamp, returning for his second year in New Orleans, and Josh Andrews, who recently signed with the team.

Lamp was a second-round pick by the Chargers in 2017 but struggled to stay healthy during the first two years of his career. He played in all 16 games in 2020 but finished with a PFF grade of 49.4. He appeared in one game with the Saints last year but every snap he was a part of was on special teams.

Andrews played with the Eagles, Colts, Jets, and Falcons and now joins the Saints to try and make it onto the roster as a reserve.
