Starting Offensive Line
The starting offensive line for the New Orleans Saints should look as follows (from left tackle to right tackle): Trevor Penning, Andrus Peat, Erik McCoy, Cesar Ruiz, and Ryan Ramczyk. The only new face that should crack the starting five upfront in New Orleans is rookie first-round draft pick, Trevor Penning.
The Saints lost Terron Armstead to the Miami Dolphins this offseason but replaced him with a very gifted and never injured (knock on wood) Trevor Penning. The Northern Iowa product has the size and stature you love to see anchoring your offensive line and having him learn alongside from experience upfront is going to be very helpful.
Doug Marrone was also hired to be the Saints’ offensive line coach this offseason, and considering he spent last season at Alabama coaching up some of the best offensive linemen in the 2022 NFL Draft, he should have no problem working with Penning and getting him to the same level.
Penning and Ramczyk will create a formidable tackle tandem while Andrus Peat, Cesar Ruiz, and Erik McCoy hold down the interior.
