TE2: Taysom Hill

TE1 and TE2 could be interchangeable but I’m comfortable with these predictions. Taysom Hill might put on a big enough show this summer that he becomes the de facto starter at tight end but since he hasn’t played a full season as a tight end, the advantage goes to Trautman.

As we all know, Hill has made a name for himself as the Saints’ offensive weapon over the years. Sean Payton loved the guy, evidenced by weird contract after weird contract given to him, but Dennis Allen made it clear that the quarterback chapter was over for Hill.

While there’s probably still a chance that Hill plays, it’d only be if both Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton went down with injuries. Hill’s at his best when he’s either catching or running with the football and putting him into a tight end role gives him the opportunity to do that.

I’ll be curious to see how this move works out for Hill but considering how lethal he’s been as the offensive weapon role in the past, I wouldn’t be surprised if he continues to be one of the Saints’ best players on offense.
