Saints TE depth chart predictions after 2022 NFL Draft

TE1: Adam Trautman
While there could be an argument made for Taysom Hill to be the starting tight end, I’m going to go with the guy who has been playing the position consistently in Adam Trautman.
The Saints spent a third-round pick on Trautman in the 2020 NFL Draft and so far, he’s been less-than-impressive.
While he did show some glimpses of potential near the end of 2021, there was more bad than good with the Dayton product, including an unfortunate event in the loss to Tennessee where he got penalized on a two-point conversion, backing the offense up. He later was chewed out by Sean Payton
While Trautman has two years remaining on his rookie deal, this might be it for him. If he fails to produce at even a mediocre level in year 3, the team won’t hesitate to find a replacement for him in 2023.
It’s now or never for Adam Trautman.
