The New Orleans Saints didn’t get much production out of their tight ends in 2021. Will things change in 2022? Let’s take a look at how the position could look this year.
While the Saints have improved offensively this offseason, their tight end position is still one that has more questions than answers surrounding it.
What kind of production will the team get out of Taysom Hill as he transitions to tight end full-time? Will Adam Trautman finally show why he was a third-round pick? What can the team get out of Nick Vannett and Juwan Johnson? Will Lucas Krull make any kind of noise this summer?
All of these questions are why the tight end position battle is going to be a fun one to keep an eye on in training camp and preseason. It’s a position that doesn’t have a surefire starter and it might take this summer to figure out who that’s going to be.
Fortunately, it’s not as big of a deal now that the wide receiver position is in better shape but it’d be nice to get better production out of the tight ends.
I’m going to give my best guess as to how the tight end depth chart will look when the 2022 regular season gets underway in September. Let’s get to it.
