1. Jarvis Landry
For whatever reason, Jarvis Landry is still waiting to be signed by someone. At this point, it feels like it’ll come down to either the Browns (where he’s spent the past three years) or the Saints. He played college football at LSU so the Big Easy would love to see Landry join Tyrann Mathieu in the black and gold.
Fortunately, it appears that the chances of Landry re-joining the Browns aren’t great following the draft. This is awesome news for New Orleans!
Landry, a former second-round pick by the Dolphins, makes a lot of sense in New Orleans. Ben Linsey of PFF wrote about that, mentioning that “Landry and Thomas can both work in the slot and outside, which would provide some flexibility on offense.” It all sounds like a dream, doesn’t it?
Yes, the Saints drafted Chris Olave in the first round but why not go from having one of the worst wide receiver situations in the league to having a top-15 unit? Michael Thomas, Olave, and Landry together wreaking havoc and giving Jameis Winston a trio of talented weapons to throw to would be an excellent move for a Saints team that’s clearly not rebuilding, but rather, reloading.
If there’s any free agent the Saints need to turn their attention to now that the Honey Badger is back in the state of Louisiana, it’s Jarvis Landry.
