10. Malcolm Jenkins
Drafted 14th overall in 2009
Hey, another Ohio State alum! The Saints love those Buckeye players, don’t they? Malcolm Jenkins deserves major love from Saints fans after what he accomplished during his time with the organization.
The first-round pick went on to help the team win a Super Bowl during his rookie season. He had a whopping 94 tackles during the 2012 season and it wasn’t surprising when he didn’t stick with the team past his rookie contract due to how well he played in the first half-decade of his NFL tenure.
He spent the first five years of his career with New Orleans and then signed with the Eagles for the next six years of his career. During that time, he won another Super Bowl and then returned to the team that drafted him for the final two years of his career.
While Jenkins wasn’t the same player he was in his prime, he was a huge part of the Saints’ resurgent defense, especially in 2021. He had 79 tackles that year and his lone interception came off of Tom Brady.
Jenkins announced his retirement in the 2022 offseason and while it could certainly be argued that he played his best football with the Eagles, he came back to the team that drafted him and ended on a high note. He’s definitely one of the best draft picks in team history.
