Another running back makes the list proving that the New Orleans Saints know how to find running backs in the draft. Deuce McAllister was the team’s first-round selection in 2001 and he didn’t disappoint.

The Ole Miss product didn’t have much to show for his rookie season in ’01 but he got it going from then on, totaling 6,096 yards and 49 touchdowns through his eight-year career (all spent in NOLA). His best year came in 2003 when he put up an astounding 1,641 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground while adding 516 receiving yards.

McAllister’s 6,096 rushing yards led the organization in all-time rushing yards until the 2021 season when Mark Ingram narrowly passed it during his return to the Big Easy. McAllister held the mark for well over a decade, however.

McAllister made it to two Pro Bowls during his career and those two seasons were his most dominant. He’s one of the best draft picks in Saints history.
