6. Cameron Jordan

Drafted 24th overall in 2011

Earlier, we discussed how Mark Ingram was one of the best Saints draft picks of all time. Well, taken just four picks ahead of him was Cameron Jordan, who also was one of the best draft picks in franchise history.

Jordan played at California and immediately made an impact at the professional level. The 2013 season, Jordan’s third, was when the Golden Bear really started to heat up, notching 13 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. It was the first Pro Bowl nod for Jordan as well.

From 2017 to 2019, Jordan totaled double-digit sacks and posted a career-high of 15.5 sacks in the 2019 season. He couldn’t be stopped!

Jordan has been universally loved for many reasons but the guy is one of the most durable players in the game. He hadn’t missed a single game since entering the league in 2011 until the 2021 season and that wasn’t even due to injury. He tested positive for COVID-19 and had to miss one game despite not having symptoms.

As of this writing, Jordan has amassed 107 sacks, which is second all-time in Saints history. He has a bit to go to get the record but there’s no denying that he’s one of the best picks in franchise history.
