Wide Receiver . New Orleans Saints. Chris Olave. 19. player. 15.

The Saints and Ohio State are like red beans and rice on a Monday afternoon. Fans can only hope Chris Olave can finally fill that WR2 role opposite fellow Buckeye Michael Thomas. According to Pro Football Network, Olave has an ideal combination of speed, burst, and route running that would open up the Saints offense under Winston.

The Saints would be ecstatic to come away with one of the top receivers in this year’s draft at pick 19. The main consideration with this pick outside of Kenny Pickett would be if one of the two Georgia defensive tackles were to fall to 19, although WR is clearly a bigger team need.

In addition, the one concern going into Thursday’s first-round is the inflated WR free-agent market this year likely placed a premium on drafting first round receivers.

Look out for teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers, both of whom traded away a star receiver this offseason and possess multiple late first-round selections, to move up in front of both the Saints and Eagles to select a WR.

In such a scenario, the Saints should remain true to their board and select the best player available, with plans to move up on Day 2 of the draft for WR, similar to the successful draft strategy last year with the cornerback position and Paulson Adebo.
