TE2: Adam Trautman
This season might be Adam Trautman’s last chance to prove himself even though he’s under contract for 2023 as well. Trautman, a third-round pick in 2020, has failed to step up and be the guy the Saints thought they were getting when they spent a Day 2 pick on the Dayton product.
In Trautman’s defense, he did show improvements this past season. What started as a really frustrating season for Trautman ended with him turning things around and looking respectable, posting a final total of 263 yards and two touchdowns.
Trautman could end up being the team’s TE1 this year but it depends on how Hill looks in the position as we head into the season. If the team adds a tight end in the draft, Trautman’s place with this team could be even further jeopardized.
It’s a big year for Trautman. Will he come through or will this end up being one of the worst third-round picks in Saints history?
