Round 3: Pick 98 – David Bell, WR (Purdue)

See? The Saints didn’t ignore the wide receiver position, they simply waited longer than most fans would have cared for, but hey — They still got an absolute baller at the position with David Bell of Purdue.

Bell had a monster season for the Boilermakers in 2021, totaling 1,286 yards off of 93 receptions while finding the end zone six times. He did this damage through 11 games and would add a deadly weapon to the Saints’ offense for 2022 and beyond.

New Orleans will hopefully have Michael Thomas back for the 2022 season so pairing him with Bell would be a lot of fun to watch. Throw in Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harris, and the next drafted player on our list and the wide receiver position would improve mightily this year.

Bell probably doesn’t slide this far in the draft but if he does, the Saints would be happy to make him their first selection in round three.
