In our latest New Orleans Saints mock draft, the team has pretty good luck in the first three rounds. They add a star wide receiver, a potential franchise quarterback, and a linebacker who doesn’t miss tackles. What more could you want?
This mock draft was done using The Draft Network’s draft simulator, so I didn’t make any trades. I do feel like Saints fans would be more than content with the draft playing out this way for the black and gold.
Let’s dive in, shall we?
Round 1: Pick 18 – Garrett Wilson, WR (Ohio State)
Jameson Williams was still available when the Saints were on the clock but I decided to go with Ohio State’s Garrett Wilson. Williams’ injury in the title game worries me plus Wilson is just as much of a stud, if not more of one.
The Buckeye wideout fits best as a slot receiver and at this point, the Saints need all of the receiver help they can get. Wilson racked up 1,058 receiving yards and dove into the end zone 12 times during his 11 games at Ohio State last season.
No one will be surprised to see New Orleans go with a wide receiver in the first round and if Wilson is the pick, fans would be thrilled. I doubt he’s still on the board at this point but since he is, the Saints happily make him their first-round selection.
