Atlanta Falcons starting QB in 2022 will be Matt Ryan

I figured I’d get the easiest answer out of the way. Matt Ryan, former No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, will get one more year in Atlanta before the Falcons move on from their former first-round quarterback.

Ryan has had a tremendous career in Atlanta and while Saints fans hate the Falcons, I’ll be honest in saying that I’ve never had an issue with their quarterback. He was a good player and got them to a Super Bowl in the 2016 season after putting up crazy numbers and winning MVP that year.

It’s been mostly downhill for the Falcons organization ever since and with Ryan turning 37 years old this offseason, it’s time to find his replacement. Atlanta would be wise to spend their top-10 selection on Ryan’s eventual successor but this year’s draft class isn’t great so they might wait another year to do so.

Falcons owner Arthur Blank has said that Ryan will get another year so unless they draft a quarterback and Ryan flat out sucks in the early window of 2022, he’s going to be the quarterback in Atlanta.
