Affordable WR options for the Saints: 3. Antonio Brown
- 7 games
- 42 receptions
- 545 receiving yards
- 4 touchdowns
Never in the wildest dreams of Saints fans could they ever have envisioned Antonio Brown sporting the black and gold. That said, Brown is in no position to turn down any offers that come in his direction.
At the age of 33, the talent is still ostensibly there. Brown moves past opposing cornerbacks effortlessly and in seven games this year, he did score four touchdowns. The problem for Brown is an obvious one, he’s about as mercurial as it gets, playing for three different teams in four years.
Brown essentially left the Tampa Bay Buccaneers high and dry in the regular season. The NFL world will be hesitant to give him another opportunity. Still, if Sean Payton remains the head coach, he does have a history of taking a shot on discarded players. If quarterback Jameis Winston is re-signed, there’s no denying that he would love to play with a true deep threat like AB.
Is Brown reliable? No. Is he cheap and talented? Double yes. The Saints should make the call.
