4. Miami Dolphins
There are plenty of reasons why Armstead to South Beach makes sense. First and foremost, the Dolphins’ offensive line is atrocious and was one of the worst in the league this past season.
Liam Eichenberg, a rookie out of Notre Dame, handled left tackle duties for the team in 2021 and it didn’t go well. Eichenberg finished with a PFF grade of 50.7 and he looked very much like a rookie stepping onto a bad offensive line.
Secondly, the Dolphins have the most cap space this offseason and can afford to fix their offensive line issues. If they want to get one of the better left tackles on the market, Armstead is that guy.
Would Miami opt to spend a lot of money on the oft-injured Armstead and move away from Eichenberg? That’ll be the question the Dolphins will have to answer this offseason.
With their cap situation and the need for a left tackle, the Dolphins have to be an option for Armstead. They’re also a fringe-playoff contender but they are looking for a new head coach this offseason, which is another storyline to watch with them.
