The New Orleans Saints could lose left tackle Terron Armstead to free agency this offseason. Let’s check out five potential destinations for the long-time Saints tackle.
Left tackles are hard to find in the NFL and the New Orleans Saints were lucky to find Terron Armstead in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Armstead played college ball at Arkansas-Pine Bluff so he wasn’t a huge name entering that draft but he’s thrived in the Big Easy.
While Armstead has been fantastic, he’s on the wrong side of 30 and if Spotrac is accurate with their market value (four years, $95 million) for the left tackle, he’ll be out of New Orleans’ price range.
With how important left tackles are, Armstead will get a big contract this offseason even with his injury history. It won’t matter that he hasn’t played a full NFL season since he entered the league or that he’s entering his age 31 season, Armstead is about to get paid this spring.
