Happy New Year!

The New Orleans Saints look forward to flipping the calendar to 2022, as this season hasn’t been very kind to them.

Even with that being the case, the good guys sit at 7-8 and are still alive in the playoff picture. They have to win out and hope for some help in order to punch their ticket to the big dance.

With 2022 officially in full swing, people are off to work on their resolutions. The Saints have a fair share of these in the new year, so let’s take a look at some of them.

New Orleans Saints Resolutions for 2022

Keep defense strong

When Drew Brees was playing some of his best ball, the Saints’ defenses were playing some of their worst ball. That resulted in three straight 7-9 seasons, which is unfortunate because we missed out on some truly great offenses making the playoffs.

Now, however, the defense is dominant and it’s a shame that Brees didn’t get to play with a defense as good as the one we’re currently treated to in the Big Easy.

The resolution for 2022 should be to keep the defense as strong as possible, which could be tricky if Dennis Allen is hired elsewhere as a head coach. New Orleans could lose Marcus Williams, P.J. Williams, and Kwon Alexander in free agency but they’ll retain Demario Davis, Cameron Jordan, Marshon Lattimore, Malcolm Jenkins, Pete Werner, and Marcus Davenport.

Hopefully, the Saints are able to keep the two Williamses and re-sign Alexander as well. If they can, this defense will continue to stay hungry.
