Christmas is right around the corner and the New Orleans Saints should be asking for these four players to wind up in their organization for the 2022 season.
As the Saints enter the final three games of the 2021 regular season, some fans are still eyeing a shot at the playoffs while others are focusing on the offseason. NOLA has a major need at wide receiver, tight end, and offensive guard this offseason and there are plenty of solid free agents at those positions.
This list might not consist of the most realistic free-agent options for New Orleans but it’s a wish list for a reason. The Saints likely have these guys on their wish list and what better time to look over that wish list than around the holidays?
Let’s get to the list, starting with a guard who could make the NOLA o-line even better.
Brandon Scherff (Guard)
Did I mention this list isn’t filled with the most likely candidates for New Orleans’ budget? Brandon Scherff won’t be someone the Saints can afford, as Spotrac has his market value set at five years worth $63 million. That’s going to be too rich for NOLA’s blood but we can dream, right?
Scherff is a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro right guard and that’s a position the Saints could use some help at. Cesar Ruiz has proven not to be worthy of a first-round pick and New Orleans would be wise to move on from him at right guard.
Scherff is an expensive target but in a perfect world, New Orleans brings him in to make a good offensive line even better.
