The New Orleans Saints finally got back into the win column with a 30-9 blowout win over the New York Jets. Yes, the win came against a really bad Jets team but who cares? The Saints needed a victory and they finally got one.

While this game wasn’t perfect for NOLA, it’s hard to stick with the typical winners and losers article considering the final score. There really weren’t too many players who played poorly on Sunday (Calvin Throckmorton’s mistake in the second half that cost Alvin Kamara a touchdown was one of the biggest whiffs on the day) so I decided to do something different this week.

Instead of winners and losers, let’s take a look at five shining stars for New Orleans. We’ll start with a guy whose performance surprised literally no one. Not even Jets fans.

New Orleans Saints Shining Stars – No. 5: Demario Davis

Former Jets linebacker Demario Davis had another outstanding game, which is something we come to expect every week now. Davis finished the game with eight total tackles and one defended pass, helping limit the Jets’ struggling offense to just nine points.

Davis playing well is never a shock but nonetheless, he was a shining star for New Orleans on Sunday afternoon.
