6. Keelan Cole
The Saints will get a chance to see Keelan Cole up close and personal this Sunday when they head to New Jersey to face the Jets. Cole hasn’t put up one of his better campaigns in 2021, totaling just 299 yards through 10 games and seven starts but he’d be a great WR3/4 option for NOLA in 2022 and beyond.
The former undrafted receiver out of Kentucky Wesleyan has been a nice story in the NFL, putting up over 600 yards receiving in two different seasons in Jacksonville, of all places. He’ll turn 29 this spring, which is on the older side for receivers, but the Saints could sign him to a two-year deal to sweeten the pot of landing him.
Cole wouldn’t be the kind of signing that would set the Saints offense on fire but he’s someone who could step in and play well should Thomas or the rookie starter miss time. His best season came as a rookie in 2017 when he had 42 receptions for 748 yards and three touchdowns and did that kind of damage with Blake Bortles throwing to him. That’s all you need to know about his skillset right there.
Cole is someone who could make the NOLA offense better and with him being an affordable option, why not make a run at him?
