Saints passed on Tee Higgins when they took Ruiz in first round
I don’t think I need to dive into Ruiz on the next… (counts)… five slides detailing the players the team passed when they took him. With that said, let’s dive in on Tee Higgins, who went in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Higgins was the No. 33 overall pick by the Bengals, who added Joe Burrow with the first overall pick and then got him a star wide receiver in the second round. Higgins was tremendous as a rookie, hauling in 67 receptions for 908 yards and six touchdowns through 16 games and 14 starts.
Despite missing two games this year due to injury, Higgins is still putting up good numbers considering the competition he has in Cincinnati. Through nine starts, he’s totaled 43 receptions for 560 yards and three touchdowns.
This past Sunday saw Higgins explode for six catches for 114 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown was a result of him climbing the ladder to go up and get the ball, which is something we don’t see from Saints playmakers.
Higgins could have been a stud in New Orleans.
