Christian Barmore (Drafted 38th overall by the Patriots)

Ten picks after Payton Turner was selected by the Saints, the Patriots nabbed Christian Barmore out of Alabama. College prospects out of Alabama can be very hit and miss but Barmore has been so good so far into his professional career that even his head coach Bill Belichick is praising the kid.

Barmore has appeared in all 10 games this season and has racked up 25 tackles, five QB hits, and 0.5 sack during that time. Against New Orleans in Week 3, Barmore had three tackles during his 44% of snaps he had that week. And that was just the third game of his career.

The Saints could have had a more productive interior defensive lineman with Barmore and more importantly, someone who could stay healthy and make an impact when on the field. Perhaps Turner ends up being a decent player but right now, it’s hard not to look at what Barmore is doing and wonder what could have been with him on this Saints defense.
