Saints First-Round Targets

Chris Olave, WR (Ohio State)

Click on any random mock draft and there’s a good chance that Chris Olave is who the Saints are taking in said mock draft. The Buckeyes receiver is off to a fabulous start in 2021, grabbing 32 catches for 518 yards and a whopping eight touchdowns through six games. He’s been incredible.

New Orleans would kill for a receiver who could do that kind of damage and pairing him with fellow former Ohio State receiver Michael Thomas would have defenses shaking in their boots.

Olave’s best year was as a sophomore in 2019 where he caught 48 balls for 840 yards and 12 touchdowns through 13 games. He was on pace to put up another monster season in 2020 but of course, the pandemic put a stop to that.

NOLA has been linked to Olave time and time again for a reason and it’s because they need a receiver and he’ll be available roughly where they’re drafting. Passing on him if he’s available would be a foolish decision.
