2. Sam Howell (North Carolina)

Sam Howell was initially thought to be the second-best quarterback in the upcoming draft but he’s dropped a little bit since the season’s been going along. He’s still been impressive though, tossing for 1,851 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions through seven games.

Like the other two quarterbacks on this list, Howell is a decent runner. He’s dashed for 494 yards and five touchdowns, proving he’s not afraid to take off with the football when the situation calls for it.

The Saints actually selected Howell in a recent mock draft conducted by NBC Sports and fans would be thrilled if the team could land a signal-caller like Howell. He might be a late first-round draft pick or even a Day 2 selection after some of his struggles this season but he’d be worth taking a chance on.

Sean Payton would love to have a guy like Howell on his roster in 2022 and beyond.
