3. Malik Willis (Liberty)

Malik Willis has been one of the most intriguing quarterbacks in college football this year. Maybe a big part of that is that he plays at Liberty, which isn’t exactly a juggernaut in the college football world but Willis is a lot of fun to watch.

Through seven games in 2021, Willis has totaled 1,462 yards, 14 touchdowns, and six interceptions while rushing for 655 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s a similar player to that of Ridder and it’d be interesting to see what kind of play calls Sean Payton could cook up for Willis if the Saints managed to land this kid.

Willis is someone who is difficult to bring down because of his mobility and he’d be similar to Lamar Jackson’s style of play where if a play is breaking down, he could just take off with the football. Willis is probably going to be one of the first quarterbacks selected in April so if the Saints want to get him, they’d have to either tank for the rest of the season or trade up.

It might be a move that’s worth it though. If you’ll remember, the Saints could have selected Jackson in the 2018 NFL Draft and when they traded up, people thought that was the direction they were going in (they took Marcus Davenport instead).

Maybe drafting Willis is the Saints’ way of hitting the “reset” button.
