The New Orleans Saints could very well find themselves in a position where they have to take a quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft. The problem is that this year’s class isn’t all that well-thought-of at the moment so even drafting one might not solve NOLA’s quarterback woes.

There are five quarterbacks who could intrigue New Orleans in the early rounds of the draft so let’s rank them and discuss how their seasons are going so far.

4. Desmond Ridder (Cincinnati)

The Cincinnati Bearcats have taken college football by storm this year and a big reason as to why is that quarterback Desmond Ridder is kicking butt and taking names. Through six games, Ridder has tossed for 1,444 yards, 13 touchdowns, and just two interceptions.

Ridder is also capable of doing damage with his legs, as he’s totaled 118 yards and three touchdowns this year. Last year he really made defenses pay on the ground, racking up 592 yards and 12 touchdowns when taking off with the football.

Ridder would be the quarterback Sean Payton dreams of but he definitely would be a project quarterback. He wouldn’t be someone fans should realistically expect to come in and start on Day 1.

I’d love to see Ridder in this offense and if New Orleans could land him on Day 2 of the draft, he could very well be the signal-caller of the future in the Big Easy.
