6. O.J. Howard

This is the least likely trade to occur out of the bunch because of where O.J. Howard plays. It’s rare for teams in the same division to make a trade, especially when swapping a playmaker on offense.

With that said, I included Howard because the Bucs are ripe with tight ends and could definitely part ways with him. Sending him to New Orleans for the final few months of his contract (assuming NOLA doesn’t extend him) and getting something in return could intrigue Tampa as they look to do as much damage as possible in their championship window.

The Bucs took Howard in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft after he put up great numbers at Alabama. He’s never been someone to pad the stats in the receiving yards category much (his career-high is 565, which he had in 2018) but he’s also shared the spotlight with Cameron Brate so he was never the only guy at the position.

With Tampa not utilizing Howard much recently (he has been banged up a bit), it makes sense for them to eye a trade. If the Buccaneers aren’t going to use Howard, the Saints would gladly take him and incorporate him in their offense. It’d reunite him with Jameis Winston too, which is a plus.
