It’s no secret that the New Orleans Saints aren’t well-set at the tight end position. This certainly wasn’t what NOLA had in mind at the position for this season, as they spent a third-round pick on Adam Trautman in last year’s draft, signed Nick Vannett in free agency, and Juwan Johnson looked really good in the preseason.
Yet, here we are and Trautman and Johnson both oddly have 64 yards receiving, giving the team 128 total receiving yards from the tight end position. Vannett has been on IR so he has yet to play a snap for the Saints this season.
If New Orleans can keep up their winning ways after the BYE week, they might have to consider trading for a tight end to give their offense a spark. They’ll get wide receivers Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith back but something has to give at tight end.
Fortunately, there are some options out there that could be worth trading for. Not all of these are the most realistic but if any of these teams find themselves out of playoff contention early in the season, they might consider sending their tight ends elsewhere to get what they can for them now.
Here are six tight ends New Orleans should consider trading for.
