The NOLA Saints are 2-2 to start the year and while the two wins have seen the team look dominant, the losses have made them look very vulnerable. There are several positions that could certainly use some help and New Orleans should upgrade these positions before the trade deadline.
Some of them are obvious ones but then there are a few who either don’t have much reliable depth or the position had a rough game and the team needs to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
Let’s take a look.
5. NOLA Saints should add backup Running Back
Alvin Kamara still looks as good as ever but the backup position in NOLA isn’t great. Tony Jones Jr., who played well in the summer and earned his spot as the backup as a result, was injured during Sunday’s loss to the Giants. Dwayne Washington stepped in as the backup.
While Washington has been with the Saints organization for quite some time, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to add another depth piece there. Marlon Mack is on the trade block though he’s probably going to get better offers from teams who can actually afford him.
Other names to consider would be David Johnson or even reuniting with former Saint, Mark Ingram.
This isn’t a huge need since Kamara is so good but if anything happens to him, Washington isn’t going to intimidate anyone. That’s why adding another running back could make sense.
