Winner: Tanoh Kpassagnon

Another key player who missed last week’s stinker in Carolina was Tanoh Kpassagnon, who the Saints signed in free agency. The former Chiefs second-round pick has been a great addition to this NOLA defense and really made his presence known on Sunday.

The Villanova product finished his second game as a Saint totaling two tackles and a big sack on Mac Jones. He’s fit in perfectly with this defense and I’m excited to continue seeing what he can do for this team.

Loser: Terron Armstead

It feels harsh to list Terron Armstead as a loser because we all know how good he is on the left side of the line. With that said, however, Armstead left the game in the first quarter with an injury and didn’t return.

This is a massive blow to the Saints’ offensive line but where it really hurts Armstead is that he’ll hit free agency this offseason if he’s not extended before then. An injury could hurt his chances of locking down a big contract either with the Saints or elsewhere.

It also sucks because Armstead is one of the best left tackles in the league so not having him is unfortunate. Here’s to hoping he has a speedy recovery and we see him on the field soon.

Winner: Offensive Line

While the injury to Armstead was unfortunate, the o-line played well for the most part. James Hurst filled in well for Armstead at left tackle and the unit as a whole gave up three sacks on Jameis Winston. It was a much-needed improvement after last week’s debacle.

Next. 3 Takeaways from Week 3. dark

This was a big win for the Saints and keeps them in the NFC South race moving forward. We weren’t sure what we’d see from this group after two very different performances but hey — I’ll gladly take a performance like the one we saw on Sunday.
