The New Orleans Saints open their 2021 regular season against the Green Bay Packers in what should be a competitive, but difficult game for the black and gold.

With a new-looking Saints squad taking the field, let’s take a look at five members of the Saints that fans are excited to watch in Week 1 against the Packers.

5. Tony Jones Jr.

There wasn’t a more surprising player this summer and preseason than former Notre Dame running back Tony Jones Jr. Most people expected Latavius Murray to be the backup running back for this offense but Jones played so well and Murray lacked the explosiveness he once had, making it an easy decision for New Orleans as far as roster cuts were concerned.

While Jones is someone fans are eager to watch in regular-season action, he’s a backup running back so he won’t get as much playing time as the other guys on this list. Alvin Kamara is the go-to weapon in the offense and that’ll continue to be the case, barring unfortunate circumstances.

Still, Jones will get a few carries, and hopefully, he makes the most of those and can rip off a big play or two during his first game as the backup running back.
