New Orleans Saints Roster – Linebackers (6)

  • Demario Davis
  • Zack Baun
  • Pete Werner
  • Kwon Alexander
  • Kaden Elliss
  • Andrew Dowell

Linebacker was the toughest position to cut because there’s so much potential here for the Saints. Before we talk more about that, however, let’s discuss the players I did elect to include on the 53-man roster.

The first four are locks. Davis is one of the best linebackers in the league, Baun had a monster preseason, Werner is a second-round rookie, and Alexander was re-signed because of the damage he did on the field a season ago.

That leaves two spots for the remaining linebackers battling it out. I went with Elliss and Dowell in a really tough decision, leaving off Chase Hansen and Wynton McManis. Out of all of the players I had to cut on this roster projection, McManis was by far the toughest. He was never going to be a starter but there was a lot of potential shown from him in preseason and it’s a bummer we won’t have him on the regular season.

Hopefully, the Saints can stash McManis on their practice squad and save him in case of injuries.
