New Orleans Saints newcomers who could start – No. 5: Tanoh Kpassagnon

The Saints made an underrated move over the offseason by signing Tanoh Kpassagnon away from the Chiefs. Kpassagnon got off to a slow start in Kansas City but in the past two years, he’s really flashed that second-round potential.

Kpassagnon started 15 games last year and has appeared in all 32 over the past two seasons, proving he’s durable. This is key for the Saints, who are now without David Onyemata for the first six games of the 2021 season due to a suspension.

It’s important for the other defensive ends to step up in Onyemata’s absence and Kpassagnon has a chance to make a name for himself in the early part of the season. He’s coming off a season where he had 28 tackles and one sack and the season before, he had four sacks.

The Saints will put Kpassagnon right to work and while he might not be a consistent starter, he has a chance to win a starting job this summer with Onyemata unavailable.
