Saints player that must step up: Adam Trautman

Lastly, the Saints need Adam Trautman. A superstar at Dayton, Trautman, along with Baun, was taken in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Trautman, due to Josh Hill and Jared Cook being on the roster, played little last season.

But, he should be able to have an impact on the team in 2021.

Trautman played in 15 games and started 6 as a rookie. He ended the season with nine first-down grabs and one touchdown. As the full-time starter with a veteran behind him, those numbers should easily triple this upcoming season.

Standing a tall 6-foot-5, Trautman should be an elite red-zone target for Winston. With a 94 percent catch rate last season, Trautman has good hands despite being thrown at just 16 times (he hauled in 15 of those passes).

Trautman should be able to get all the snaps he can handle and hopefully can produce well with that opportunity.
