Thankfully, the New Orleans Saints have won the NFC South four straight times, a division record. Their goal will be to do that again in 2021, but it will be much more difficult for the team after they gutted their roster and lost Drew Brees.
The hit that losing Brees brings is almost enough to solely put them behind the ball. Considering the Super Bowl-winning Bucs still have their future Hall of Famer leading the way, the odds for New Orleans are slim.
The New Orleans Saints are going to need some help to repeat as NFC South champions, and these players must step up in order to continue their run.
Add on top of that the fact that most of the Saints’ key veterans that weren’t superstars were released, and you have a team without much-proven talent outside of the top-tier players.
Yes, they retained players like Demario Davis, Cam Jordan, Alvin Kamara and others. Their entire starting offensive line is also still together. However, the loss of Brees, Emmanuel Sanders, Janoris Jenkins, Jared Cook, Trey Hendrickson and others will haunt this team till the end of the season.
It doesn’t have to though, especially if these three players step up in a big way.
