It’s been a hectic offseason for the New Orleans Saints. Combine the retirement of a future Hall of Famer that’s been with the team for over a decade and a massive cap problem, and Mickey Loomis had his hands full.
Once again, Loomis has only left fans with excitement for the upcoming season. Jameis Winston was re-signed, bolstering the team’s offense, and Loomis even managed to use their franchise tag, placing it on safety Marcus Williams.
The New Orleans Saints still need to find a competent No. 2 receiver, and they’ll have the options in-house, in the draft, and in the market.
Despite his heroics, the Saints have holes on their roster. They do have four picks within the first three rounds of the upcoming draft, but as we saw with Zack Baun and Adam Trautman, players drafted on Day 2 aren’t always ready for immediate use.
With limited options, the Saints have two big needs, one at wide receiver and one at cornerback. The one at corner is more important, but there’s no denying getting a competent No. 2 receiver should be at the top of their to-do list.
That said, let’s dive into four receivers that the Saints could either target, draft or promote prior to the commencement of the 2021 season.
